Please, can each competitor make themselves aware of the Fishery Rules for each venue they purchase a ticket for? These can be found on the venue’s website or by contacting them via the number on each page of this website. Each angler must abide by the rules set out at each fishery to avoid the possibility of disqualification.
Anglers need to be booked in by 8.30am to allow re-pegging if necessary with the draw taking place between 8.45am-9am, with fishing from either 11am – 4pm or 12noon – 5pm, these will be announced at each fishery on the date of the qualifier. The anglers taking part will only be allowed a single draw on each participating match.
Fish North will have a representative at each of the qualifiers and all final decisions made are those of Fish North.
Pools
Each of the qualifiers has a £20 pools with an optional £10 superpools. This is to cover peg fees and daily payouts. Details of these will be given on the morning of each qualifier. Payouts for the day are normally spread, so depending on the number fishing it is usually a lake winner and 4 sections and then 1st and 2nd in the superpools on each lake.
Qualifiers
The following rules for fishing any qualifier should be followed (these rules are in addition to any fishery rules).
- No gardening unless Fishery rules allow.
- Maximum Pole Limit of 16m or less if fishery rules apply.
- Qualifying matches are 5 hours in duration.
- Competitors must not interfere with another competitor during the qualifier and act in a sporting manner at all times.
- Electronic Fish Finders are NOT allowed.
- No bait is to be introduced into your swim until the all-in has been called.
- Spodding of any kind is NOT allowed.
- No floating baits.
- No floating poles.
- Only one pole or rod can be in the water at any time, however, you may have as many items of tackle set up at your peg, but only one single item fishing at any given time.
- Complaints of any kind must be made in writing no later than one hour after the qualifying match has finished.
- In the event of a tie for a qualifying place, a one-hour mini fishing match will take place. Anglers will draw for pegs on the same lake with ample room and the competitor with the biggest weight will be crowned the winner.
Ticket Sales
Each ticket for a qualifier is £30. Tickets can be purchased via the links on the Fish North website.
Please note that tickets are Non-Refundable, but can be transferred to another angler. This means if you are unable to fish a qualifier you have purchased a ticket for, then it is your responsibility to sell that ticket on to another angler. Transferring your Fish North ticket to another competitor is simple to do, but it’s very important that you follow the below instructions so that the transfer is valid.
The original competitor must email fishing@fishnorth.co.uk clearly stating that they wish to transfer their ticket. They must include their name, the new competitor’s name, the email address of the new competitor and the date of the event the ticket is for. We will then respond with a confirmation email.
Tickets are issued on the basis of strict regulations to the rules of the competition. Ticket holders need to make themselves aware of all the fishery and competition rules.
In the event of a qualifier being cancelled or rescheduled all competitors for the qualifier in question will be given good notice of the changes and rescheduled date.
Any ticket purchased will be sent via electronic format to the email address registered when purchasing. Once you receive your ticket via email, you will need to print this off and bring it to the venue on the qualifier date. If you are unable to print your ticket for any reason, please make a note of your number and bring valid identification with you, this includes either your passport or driving license.
Please arrive by 8.30am, if you are running late for any reason you will need to notify Fish North on 07805 254007 or 07770 692683. Please bring your ticket to the officials as soon as you arrive so that you are registered for the draw.
Tickets will be sold up to 1 hour before the qualifier begins.
Semi-Final and Final
If you are one of the lucky anglers that qualify for the competition Semi-Final and then following this the Final of Fish North, you will need to supply us with your contact details as all finalists will be sent details which will outline your requirements and the rules for the Semi-Final and Final.
Please note that if you make the Grand Final you will be required to attend the Friday Live Draw that takes place at Forest Lane Fishery and you will be required to participate in some publicity work for the Fish North competition.
